About The Founder Of AirStall

Many people who know me will tell you that I am a man of ideas. I'm a man with a sense of wonder. By that I mean I always question what I observe and seek ways to improve it, I always think, "What if..." That's how ideas bring themselves to my mind.

Growing up in Phoenix, Westham, I fell in love with video games and electronic devices before teenage years. Because video games give one a chance to determine the outcome of the story I would jokingly compare video games to movies and say; "Video games are way better than movies." So, of course during my teenage years I was very good at playing video games. Arcade shops is where I spent most of my free time. I was so good that I'd discover secret moves, codes, methods, combinations, etc. before most gamers. I still don't know how gaming never negatively affected my good school symbols. I, somehow, managed to afford the luxury of having both.

I got my high school senior certificate with a distinction in accounting at Inanda Newtown Comprehensive High School. The following year I went to the Durban University of Technology for a National Diploma in Marketing. I have always had something, in my heart, for commerce. I started working as a shelf-packing intern at Pick 'n Pay Pavilion when I was doing my final year at the Durban University of Technology and that is one of many opportunities that I managed to grab and use effectively.

I worked as a groceries' merchandiser for a company called Sales & Merchandising Specialists in 2008. I also worked at Game Gateway for few weeks back in 2009. I started working for Spar KZN, a Spar distribution division in KwaZulu Natal, in August 2010 where I was exposed to many opportunities and directly involved in some of their projects.

It has been a long road and I learned a lot along the way. I have always been working on improving my effectiveness in the industry. And so I have attended many courses and studied many books. As a result I have gained my national certificate in freight handling, a higher certificate in logistics management and a bachelor's degree in management with a double distinction in 2 financial management levels. These are some of the things that fueled my desire to contribute positively to and improve the industry.

As you can see, I have been exposed to the retail side of the food industry from a young age. Today I have been in this industry for more than 12 years. So, what we are doing with AirStall is relatively new in South Africa. How it works is, a customer uses a tablet, a computer or a smartphone to place a groceries order on our website and have it delivered to them. The main aim of this is to enable low prices for consumers because this model allows us to run a low cost business and therefore pass our savings to our customers. Other aims include convenience and solving many pain points that only the latest technology can solve.

This side of the industry is still very young and we believe it will grow exponentially in the coming years. Walk with us as we simplify your shopping and cheapen the goods you need daily.
